MANILA, Philippines – People Asia Magazine published by Stargate Media Corp. hailed on Friday action star Robin Padilla as one of the "Men Who Matter."
Speaking to ABS-CBN News, Padilla said he did not expect to get the recognition.
Other awardees are rock legend Joey Pepe Smith, Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco, singer Jed Madela, and prominent businessmen.
They were recognized for their dedication to their respective professions and their determination to surmount the many life struggles that came their way.
Padilla, meanwhile, thanked all the avid viewers of his television series "Guns and Roses."
He also refuted the rumor saying his wife, actress Mariel Rodriguez, gets jealous when he does intimate scenes with actress Bea Alonzo in the said series.
Padilla also disclosed that he will play a superhero with unique superpowers in an upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry titled "Peter Wong."
Padilla said Rodriguez was the one who thought of the movie's concept.
The action star revealed, though, that Rodriguez won't be his leading lady in the movie. He said he wants actress Angelica Panganiban to be his partner in the film.
Padilla’s movie will be shown alongside MMFF entries starring Vic Sotto, Ai-Ai delas Alas, Bong Revilla and Judy Ann Santos. – Report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
