John Lloyd Cruz and Jennylyn Mercado - Exclusive Star Cinema Interview

Earlier today, an exclusive interview was posted on the official Star Cinema YouTube account with the newest cross promotional loveteam of Box Office and Film Royalty John Lloyd Cruz and Jennylyn Mercado.

Jennylyn dyed her hair dark black for her role. She plays Aki (sp?) which is a ground crew member and John Lloyd plays the role of a pilot with high aspirations. Will love happen for two people from two different worlds? You betcha!
 
They talked about their first time meeting was their first scene together (commonplace for Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina projects, her style) and that they both admired one another and their respective acting abilities.

In finally working with Jennylyn, John Lloyd Cruz was, "I've been dying to work with (her)' and to that she said 'Totoo ba?' with a giggle. Jennylyn for her part said that she has been a fan of Lloydy for the longest and pretty much seen all of his films.She didn't believe she was working with him until the cameras started rolling.

 John Lloyd Cruz mentioned that they were supposed to be in a film before but that fell through. Luckily the stars aligned and even if Jennylyn isn't a Kapamilya, she will be able to do a project under the Star Cinema banner and to play opposite the one and only John Lloyd Cruz.

Is this the start of a certified Kapamilya transfer for Kapuso leading lady? Unfortunately no. Its for a still untitled Star Cinema film but she is still under GMA Artist Center.

At least we will get to see two of the most talented artistas of this generation in a project together and its under the ABS banner so we know it will be a bonafide blockbuster hit.

What do we know of the film thus far? Not much except that the director will be Cathy Garcia-Molina and it is tentatively scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide in March.

Kahapon ay nagdiwang ng kanyang kaarawan si John Lloyd Cruz. Isang Simpleng birthday wish lang daw ang gusto ng aktor. “Good health for myself and for the rest of the family kasi iyon ang pinakamahirap sa lahat. You can have everything in the world pero kung may sakit ka, parang nawawalan ng halaga lahat. I just wanna be able to enjoy my work, and mai-share ko ang blessings,” nakangiting pahayag ni John Lloyd.

Ano kaya ang regalo sa kanya ng girlfriend na si Shaina Magdayao? “Wala akong mahihiling sa kanya kundi kotse na bago. Joke lang ‘yun, ‘di naman kailangan yun,” pabirong sagot pa ni Lloydie.

Vina speaks up for Shaina-John Lloyd

MANILA, Philippines – Singer-actress Vina Morales has denied reports saying her sister, actress Shaina Magdayao, and her sister’s boyfriend, actor John Lloyd Cruz, secretly got wed when the 2 went to Europe recently.

“That’s not true, they’re not engaged and ‘yung mga lumalabas na they secretly got married. It’s not true, ang babata pa nila. Ako muna, si ate muna,” Morales told Push.com.ph.

Morales said intrigues like this cannot be avoided because both Cruz and Magdayao are public personalities.

“Basta ako I’m happy for them, si Idan (Cruz’s nickname), eh magbi-birthday na (June 24), happy kami dahil silang dalawa ay happy naman, at the same time, excited for the party na gagawin na close friends and family lang naman talaga [ang dadalo],” she said.

Morales added that she is not bothered because Cruz is always there to defend her sister.

“I can see Idan’s love for my sister. Kaya kaming pamilya ni Shaina wala kaming masabi but only good things for Idan and his family,” she said.

Although Magdayao has kept her mum despite all the intrigues being thrown at her and Cruz, Morales said she will only speak for her sister once she feels that Magdayao is already being aggrieved.

“Idan is there to protect Shaina, nakakaaliw and nakakataba ng puso. But siguro hindi man nagsasalita ang kapatid ko, kung talagang negative na, I have to defend her. Alam namin ang totoo, pangalawa andun si Idan para ipagtanggol siya sa mga lumalabas na isyu sa kanya at andun ang Star Magic para sa kanya. ‘Yung mga tagasuporta niya hindi naman maniniwala. Hinahayaan na lang namin para hindi lumaki,” she said.
