First of all, thank you to
Balitang America for making me take noticed that the hilarious new NBC workplace comedy
Superstore (Cloud 9 that resembles a Walmart without saying Walmart) had a Pinoy in it. The teasers were funny and knowing Nico is Filipino is another reason I wanted to tune in (we should all support our kababayans diba?) You might have remembered Nico Santos in
Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 or
Go-Go Boy Interrupted.

What I love about Nico as Mateo in
Superstore is his dry wit and clever comebacks. Whether or not his character is gay is unsubstantial, he complements a diverse cast of characters which is headed by America Ferrara and Ben Feldman. He is also quick to say he is Filipino or act in very Pinoy ways (hard worker, tends to be a bit talkative, visible accent).
If you are in the US or have Netflix or other outlets to check out Superstore, I highly recommend it. Not only is there a highly entertaining Pinoy part of is cast but you will have a great time. No real heavy scenes and they also poke fun at stereotypes in a non-offensive manner.
