Mariel Rodriguez & Amy Perez - OFFICIALLY newest members of ITS SHOWTIME!

Was this really a surprise to anyone? About a month or so ago, Mariel Rodriguez and Amy Perez were guest hosting for one week to fill in for Anne Curtis who was in Japan at that time filming a commercial. After that week, they were still hosting, then the following week, they were both still there and last week they were there present as well as part of the New Years Best of SHOWTIME 2015 recap episodes. I guess it was just a matter of time before it became official and now it is.

After the energetic opening number and the ITS SHOWTIME theme opening for the first live program of 2016 with the spiels, Vhong Navarro, Karylle and Vice Ganda made it official by welcoming both talented female hosts to the ITS SHOWTIME family complete with a video package as well as flowers. Main host Anne Curtis called in from Patagonia, Argentina to welcome them to the family as well.

Both are veteran hosts from noontime: Mariel was on Wowowee as well as Pilipinas Win na Win and Happy Yipee Yehey while Amy Perez was on earlier than that with Sa Linggo nAPO Sila and  'Sang Linggo nAPO Sila.

Commentary: Glad to have both females as hosts on ITS SHOWTIME. My main concern is the budget for the show now. We have the 11 guys of #HASHTAGS as regulars and 2 more hosts besides the current main and co-hosts as well as the SHOWTIME dancers and XBGensan. I'd cost cut with of all the excessive birthday party fluff (weren't we the TRENDING capital of the Philippines now we are a glorified birthday party trending capital... happy yipee yehey? ) and put a big jackpot game at the end as well. By the way, I am happy that Tawag ng Tanghalan is part of ITS SHOWTIME. We have to go back to the talent part of the show and maybe reach out more to the madlang people, perhaps have an Ikaw Ang Bida segment.
