Well apparently the new look of Charice (the new hairstyle and the new tat on her forearm that reads 'Love (infinity sign) Eternally' has set the internet community abuzz which begs the question... could she be the dreaded 'L Word'? *sarcastic gasp*
If she was lesbian for argument sake, what harm would that be? She is expressing who she is and is not a detriment to her family, friends or fans. Many people have hid their true selves just to be accepted or what they claim as the norm.
In an interview she was quoted as saying:
"I know that a lot of people will react about it. And, uhm, of course some, negative, maybe a lot positive. But all of the negative comments, I don't care. It's me, this is what I want, and I love it."
When asked about her sexual preference, Charice answered in a non-direct manner:
"Why would you ask me that question? I think that's a very inappropriate question. For me, just love me. I‘m a person. If you think I'm a boy or a girl or if I look like a boy, then fine. I'm Charice. What if people think she is a lesbian because of her new look?"
When asked directly if she was lesbian or not, she said this:
"I know what people think...I don't care."
"This is the look that I want. The only thing that you can do is move on."
She is currently on tour and will be one of the mentor judges on The X Factor Philippines which will air soon on the Kapamilya Network.
...
No matter who she is... new hairstyle, tat or what have you, the most important thing we should remember is that she proudly represents our country with that remarkable voice and loves to share that with the world. Let us not attack her but embrace this homegrown talent.
AJA Charice AJA!
