Could Ritz Azul be the next TV5 big star to come to ABS-CBN?

The Star Factor 2010 finalist has been a fixture of the Kapatid Network for years now but is now barely visible these days, could a move to ABS rejuvenate her career? She would join the ranks of Arci Munoz, Yam Concepcion, Meg Imperial, Wendell Ramos and a host of others that departed TV5 and have seen their careers get a jumpstart. I do not see any difference since she has all of the talent, hosting and the beauty that is more or at least on par with the other leading ladies in ABS-CBN.

Let's see what will develop in the weeks and months, I am hearing positive things on this front. Abangan.

Angelica Panganiban to replace Alex Gonzaga on Game Ng Bayan

Banana Sundae regular and recently ended Pangako Sa'Yo's Claudia Buenavista Angelica Panganiban has replaced Alex Gonzaga on Game Ng Bayan. The reason that was cited was due to Alex having a teleserye lined up but there are rumors it had to do with what the viewers wanted and she was not it. Some felt she was a bit OA while others seemed she wasn't a good choice to host opposite Robin Padilla.

On her Instagram post about joining Game Ng Bayan she said:

“Napakasaya maki bonding sa mga ka barangay kanina masayang masaya ako dahil busy ka, @cathygonzaga dahil nag enjoy talaga ko kanina. Hinihiling ko, na maging mas busy ka pa. Para ako lagi ang papalit sayo. PS nag mmeeting sila ngayon kung pano sasabihin sayong tanggal ka na sa show. At ako na ang bagong utol nila love you bi! Take it easy.”

Angelica Panganiban is soon to be on GNB as early as Easter Monday.

Welcome to the Kapamilya, Jonalyn Viray! There were rumors for months that she might move and now it is official. Her first major project is singing the theme song for the upcoming Pokwang-Melai soap, We Will Survive.

With her move to the Kapamilya Network, she also changed her name to 'Jona'. "Jona kasi nickname ko po talaga siya. So 'yun po ang ibinigay sa akin ngayon since it's a fresh start -- bagong home, bagong environment. Kaya po Jona."

'The Story of Us' Official Teleserye Poster Released!

The Story of Us starring Kim Chiu and Xian Lim has released its own teleserye poster and it looks impressive with of course KimXi as the main attraction and the backdrop of their humble beginnings.

It is under Star Creative and directed by the Richard V. Somes.  The other members of this blockbuster cast are Zsa Zsa Padilla, Aiko Melendez, John Arcilla, Susan Africa, Gardo Versoza, Princess Punzalan, Eric Quizon, Bryan Santos, Janus del Prado, Cheena Crab, Leandro Munoz, Carlo Munoz, Beth Tamayo, Nonong de Andres, Ingrid dela Paz, Rubi Rubi and Bryan Andres.

 It is scheduled to replace On The Wings of Love starting February 29th, 2016.

"We Will Survive" starring Pokwang and Melai starts February 29th!

We now all know the title of Pokwang and Melai's first teleserye together and it is called 'We Will Survive.' What we do know thus far is that it is about friendship, family and sure to be a fun one  The trend recently in soaps are a shift from heavy to lighter soaps ever since the pre-noontime success of the 2 year long Be Careful With My Heart.

After their contract signing with ABS-CBN, Jadine confirmed they will be busy after On The Wings Of Love wraps up in 2 weeks time with a concert in Araneta and shows across the globe thanks to TFC: The Filipino Channel. They also confirmed that this June they will starting their next soap that will be under the DreamScape banner.

Commentary: First of all, I suggested an all female dance group after the Hashtags debuted, I posted about it on the ABS forums. Glad to see all these lovely and talented girls on Showtime on the daily, on one stage but why so many? There are 11 Hashtag guys and count them, 21 Girltrends! How can they stand out as well as how could they fit on that stage? Its hard for the Hashtag guys to get airtime and now this? By the way, what does this mean for the XB Gensan and Showtime Dancers (Joana crossed over into the GT now) with these females added?

Anne Curtis and Christopher De Leon guest on Ang Probinsyano

ITS SHOWTIME's own Anne Curtis and veteran actor Christopher De Leon are the latest big names in the industry have recently appeared on the top rating primetime teleserye Ang Probinsyano. Ronaldo Valdez as Ninong, Polo Ravales, Joem Bascon, Susan Africa, Richard Yap and Gina Pareno as Madam Olga are a few names that have dropped by (and possibly died) on this soap.

Anne Curtis plays the daughter of Boyet who is a druglord. There seems to be issues already in their initial scenes on Friday as she seems to have a growing resentment towards her father as well as her return to alcoholism. Mico Palanca also guests in this latest storyline.

Yes you read the title correctly! Don't fret Daniel Padilla and KathNiel fanatics, he will be one of the many matinee idols in ABS-CBN to be brought into the reboot of this beloved male sitcom brought into the modern day.

Quite a few other young male actors have been rumored to be in this project (Enrique Gil, James Reid, Elmo Magalona, Jerome Ponce, Diego Loyzaga, Marco Gumabao amongst them) and other names will be revealed real soon alongside other young female leading ladies. Kathryn Bernardo will definitely guest if not be a regular.  Abangan!

Toni Gonzaga is pregnant!

A big congratulations to Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano for the news of their first baby! Toni Gonzaga is indeed pregnant as reported by PEP and ABS-CBNnews Online.

As of right now, Written In Our Stars has been put on the back burner for the meantime (that would explain the mysterious postponing a few weeks ago for no reason just like Juday's soap due to her pregnancy as well). Her status on ASAP, Home Sweetie Home and as part of I Love OPM as a Himigration Officer is up in the air.

Gonzaga and Soriano wed on June 12, 2015 after being together for over eight years.

John Lloyd Cruz and Jennylyn Mercado - Exclusive Star Cinema Interview

Earlier today, an exclusive interview was posted on the official Star Cinema YouTube account with the newest cross promotional loveteam of Box Office and Film Royalty John Lloyd Cruz and Jennylyn Mercado.

Jennylyn dyed her hair dark black for her role. She plays Aki (sp?) which is a ground crew member and John Lloyd plays the role of a pilot with high aspirations. Will love happen for two people from two different worlds? You betcha!
 
They talked about their first time meeting was their first scene together (commonplace for Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina projects, her style) and that they both admired one another and their respective acting abilities.

In finally working with Jennylyn, John Lloyd Cruz was, "I've been dying to work with (her)' and to that she said 'Totoo ba?' with a giggle. Jennylyn for her part said that she has been a fan of Lloydy for the longest and pretty much seen all of his films.She didn't believe she was working with him until the cameras started rolling.

 John Lloyd Cruz mentioned that they were supposed to be in a film before but that fell through. Luckily the stars aligned and even if Jennylyn isn't a Kapamilya, she will be able to do a project under the Star Cinema banner and to play opposite the one and only John Lloyd Cruz.

Fresh from their victory on Sunday, the made their first live interview as Dance Kids Grand Champions on the number one morning show Umagang Kay Ganda.

They were interviewed by the hosts and they were thankful for all of their supporters as well as saying they will have a series of mall shows in places like Cebu and General Santos.

No matter how far she has come, she is still the humble quiet girl we all know and love. Concerning a possible entry into the beauty pageant world, she does not see that happening anytime soon but never rule it out. She could very well be the next Miss Universe!

John Lloyd Cruz and Jennylyn Mercado in a Star Cinema dream film!!!

Is this the start of a certified Kapamilya transfer for Kapuso leading lady? Unfortunately no. Its for a still untitled Star Cinema film but she is still under GMA Artist Center.

At least we will get to see two of the most talented artistas of this generation in a project together and its under the ABS banner so we know it will be a bonafide blockbuster hit.

What do we know of the film thus far? Not much except that the director will be Cathy Garcia-Molina and it is tentatively scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide in March.

Congrats to Lucky Aces, the 1st Dance Kids Grand Champions!

The results are in and Lucky Aces (Lucky Ancheta and Andree Camille 'AC' Bonifacio) reign above them all. They outlasted the thousands who auditioned and came all the way from Canada to take the prestigious title.at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila tonight (Sunday, February 7, 2016).

Commentary: I am ecstatic and elated to see what they will do on Kapamilya televisions in days and months and years to come. I hope to see them on ASAP as regulars or even SHOWTIME. I think Acee will be a breakout star if she ever decides to give it a try full time on ABS television.

Pangako Sa'Yo ends this Friday!

This is it, this really is it! Is it really the end of Angelo and Yna's love story after they find out that they are 'siblings'? How will Claudia get caught in her web of lies? Will Eduardo and Amor live happily ever after with their newfound daughter Yna aka Maria Amor? Will Lia and Amboy become more than friends? Will Belen and Isko learn to live without Yna in their home? Is Mark to be fully trusted?

All these questions will be answered and more in the final 5 days of the phenomenal hit remake, Pangako Sa'Yo!

'I Love OPM' official judges: Toni Gonzaga, Martin Nievera and Lani Misalucha!

On a recently posted teaser on the ABS-CBN official YouTube account, it confirmed Toni Gonzaga, Martin Nievera and Lani Misalucha are the official judges for this new reality show called I Love OPM: Original Pinoy Music. It is about foreigners with no Pinoy blood who love OPM. The format has yet to be announced. The hosts are ITS SHOWTIME's very own Anne Curtis and stand up comedian and YFSF2 standout Eric Nicolas.
