Janine Gutierrez - Kapamilya Bound?

First Elmo's sister Maxene made the move to ABS-CBN and her career skyrocketed thanks to winning big on The Singing Bee then being part of Season 1 of Your Face Sounds Familiar as well as soaps Dream Dad and currently Doble Kara, next Elmo Magalona himself made the switch and he is already making huge waves in ABS with his pairing with Kapamilya hot commodity Janella Salvador in the upcoming 2016 teleserye Born For You, now there are rumblings that Elmo's girlfriend Janine might be coming to ABS, is that true?

In an exclusive interview with entertainment news site PEP.ph, she sadly confirmed she is still under GMA contract for 2 more years and has no plans (right now) for moving since she is happy with the way that GMA is taking care of her career. She is currently the lead in Dangwa as Rosa Capulong on GMA.

Commentary: Oh geez, 2 more years! NOOOOO! Come on over Janine, the water is quite fine here and I'll definitely pull out the red carpet for you. Is there any loopholes in the contract? *crosses fingers* She is definitely an amazing young actress with so much to offer especially with all the leading men she could be paired with besides Elmo, of course. Don't get me wrong, I love my homegrown Star Magic talents but the daughter of Lotlot de Leon as well as Lilita and Nora's granddaughter isn't just a pretty face but a bonafide breakthrough star just like Nadine Lustre was when she was on TV5/GMA a few years back.

'Born For You' stars Be Careful with my Heart and Oh My G star Janella Salvador with bagong Kapamilya Elmo Magalona. This is Elmo's first teleserye in ABS-CBN after signing up for the Kapamilya Network earlier this month.

Filming has began for this project in Japan as well as in the Philippines.

'Written In Our Stars' starring Piolo, Toni, Sam, Jolina, Sarah Lahbati... SOON!

'Written In Our Stars' stars Piolo Pascual, Toni Gonzaga, Sam Milby, Jolina Magdangal, Sarah Lahbati and Marco Masa. It is a story about finding love and having lost it, can you hold it together for your child? It is a mix of Pure Love, Nathaniel and a traditional love story.

Long time Kapuso Polo Ravales made his Primetime Bida debut this past Monday on Ang Probinsyano as one of the many associates of 'Ninong' (Ronaldo Valdez) alongside Joem Bascon and Star Magic Angel Hanna Ledesma.

There was rumors of a move to ABS for quite a few months after his contract expired this past year but no confirmation. He previously appeared on two episodes of Ipaglaban Mo: Dario in 'Sa Mata Ng Bata' and 'Pagmamahalang Hinahadlangan' as Edwin.

Is this a sign he is no longer freelance and he might be leaning on becoming a certified Kapamilya?

ITS SHOWTIME will present the return of Tawag ng Tanghalan, the first talent search on Philippine television history this coming Saturday.

TNT was originally slated to be its own program but management decided to turn it into a segment for the Kapamilya noontime variety show, ITS SHOWTIME.TNT was rumored to be hosted by the likes of Regine Velasquez, Edu Manzano, Aga Muhlach and others but things changed. 

Recall Bayani Agbayani's Funny Juan comedy reality search was also in line to be its own reality show but it was absorbed as a segment on SHOWTIME and repackaged as Funny One.

Bagong Kapamilya Elmo Magalona plays Kapamilya Deal or No Deal!

New Kapamilya leading man Elmo Magalona got his turn at trying his luck on the wildly popular Kapamilya Deal or No Deal hosted by Luis Manzano.

Elmo played the game valiantly with his mother Pia and sister Saab Magalona in attendance but when he had only 200 and 200,000 left on the board and the offer was 99,000 he went against conventional thinking and went empathically, NO DEAL. Sadly he gave up the guaranteed 99,000 pesos and unfortunately ended up with 200 pesos. In the end, he told Luis he didn't want the game to end so he tried his luck.

This episode aired on December 28th and the 29th. You can see him soon on his upcoming teleserye Born For You with Be Careful with My Heart and Oh My G's Janella Salvador in the first quarter of 2016.

'Darna' MMFF Teaser Trailer begs the question: who is DARNA?

To the MMFF moviegoer they were treated to a big surprise before the main attractions and it was an exclusive first look at the Star Cinema produced Darna film for 2016. The trailer which was uploaded by a fan was recently removed from YouTube but the face of what Kapamilya star would be Darna for the Kapamilya Network. Only a mere silhouette of the female was made out.

When ABS initially got the rights to the Mars Ravelo comic superheroine they were doing a film and a fantaserye in the coming years. The teleserye version has yet to be cast but now we finally get the go ahead with the Star Cinema film (originally slated for an MMFF 2015 release but delayed due to the disk bulge injury sustained to Angel Locsin during preparations for the aforementioned film).

Check the composite photo and you judge who the Kapamilya Darna will be. Names that were rumored ranged from original Darna Angel Locsin from her days in GMA as the heroine  to Kristine Hermosa, Cristine Reyes, Bangs Garcia to hot young commodities like Nadine Lustre, Maja Salvador, Julia Montes, Kathryn Bernardo, Liza Soberano, Kim Chiu, Yam Concepcion, Meg Imperial, Jane Oineza and Arci Munoz.

Who do you think is the Kapamilya Darna and will she do the role justice under the ABS-CBN banner?

Commentary: I think it will still be Angel Locsin but the side view of the face makes me think it might be Maja Salvador. She isn't afraid to wear the iconic Darna ensemble [see her ASAP Twerk It Like Miley steaming hot performance that has well over 17 million views and counting]. In relation to some of the others noted prior, I'm not sure if Nadine, Kathryn or Liza would be comfortable in that costume. Kristine Hermosa and Cristine Reyes who are now both mothers were rumored but seem to want to shy away from more adult oriented roles especially this one from reports.

First Elmo, next Mariel and Robin, now Gelli.... will Kylie Padilla and Jonalyn Viray lipat to ABS-CBN?

Was it just me or does it seem like a max exodus coming from GMA/TV5 to our friendly shores on ABS-CBN this year?

Now there are rumors that Kylie Padilla, daughter of Robin and Jonalyn Viray might be the next dominoes to make the jump to ABS-CBN.

Kylie Padilla is not under contract and finishing up Buena Familia on GMA next month. Could she be following the footsteps of her father Robin Padilla as well as her cousins Bela and Daniel Pailla?

Could you imagine Sarah, Angeline, Kyla and Jonalyn on ASAP together? Jonalyn Viray was quoted in an article saying that she wants to have future projects with the likes of Kapamilya singers Piolo Pascual, Yeng Constantino, Erik Santos as well as others. Could this be her sending feelers to our network?

Commentary: I still think that Mang Peter (Balloon Man) will end up donating his eyes to Ningning after that comment he made where he owns her more than she will ever know. I bet I'm right.

'Tubig at Langis' starring Zanjoe, Cristine Reyes & Isabelle Daza soon!

Missed Zanjoe Marudo? The last we saw of him was as Mr. President to Ningning (Jana Agoncillo) in Dream Dad and he is back in 'Tubig at Langis' alongside new mommy Cristine Reyes and Isabelle Daza. In the teaser trailer on the official ABS-CBN Youtube HERE we see yet again another love triangle with former loveteam Cristine (Martha Cecilia's Kristine in 2010 if you recall) and former Kapuso leading lady Isabelle Daza. Will love prevail in the war of roles or just like Tubig at Langis (Water and Oil) they just don't mix.

Commentary: Whatever happened to Ingrid Dela Paz? I thought she got Isabelle's role in the first place. I loved her as Livia on Pasion de Amor and this would have been a perfect vehicle to catapult her blossoming career. Sayang talaga.

Pangako Sa'Yo's Christmas Shocker: Claudia LIVES!

Was this much of a Merry Christmas surprise? I guessed correctly and look who isn't dead!

At the end of Friday's episode of Pangako Sa'Yo we have a female to her back and she quickly turns around and the reveal is Claudia Buenavista with her ever evil demeanor and piercing eyes breaking the 4th wall and greets the loyal PSY/Kapamilya viewer a Merry Christmas.

What does this mean to Eduardo and his family now that they are starting to rebuild as one unit after his recent release from prison? The teaser for next week already shows that she is with Simon but seems to have memory loss (classic teleserye trophe used once again as I sadly predicted). Why does Simon and their homestead appear like a normal house and no longer a mansion? Did Simon lose his momey after the years or is this a ploy to make her stay away from her old life? What will bring back Claudia memories? Will she run into Lia, Angelo or Eduardo or maybe Yna or Amor on television would bring back what was once lost?

Should be an interesting few weeks as we are reintroduced to Amor's foil in Claudia Buenavista? What do you think? Will we get the clash we have waited for a few months now?

'Dolce Amore' starring LizQuen's Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil soon on Primetime Bida!

LizQuen fans, don't fret, your beloved loveteam will be in a highly anticipated Primetime Bida soap, Dolce Amore!

Dolce Amore, in Italian means 'sweet love' which is appropriate. The soap started filming in Rome, Italy and is apparent in the upcoming teaser trailer that was released on the official ABS-CBN Youtube HERE.

 From the given trailer, an Italian princess named Serena played by Liza 'Hope' Soberano does not want all the glitz and glamour of being who she is, she wants the simple life. She ends up in the Philippines and encounters Enrique Gil as Tenten, an ordinary guy trying to make a living in Manila/Maynila. The end of the teaser trailer has them finally meet up in her car and in an awkward moment, Tenten gets sprayed with pepper spray. Oh that isn't love in the air Quen, that's the burning sensation of an exchange that will set the tone for this soap. Will love bloom forevermore for these two combustible elements. I certainly hope so and I wouldn't expect anything less from one of the hottest loveteams on ABS-CBN, or for the whole country for that matter.

The soap will also have Cherie Gil, Matteo Guidicelli and Frenchie Dy. The timeslot has not yet been confirmed but by the way some of the primetime soaps are headed, it may take over Jadine's On The Wings Of Love before KathNiel's Pangako Sa'yo calls it quits.

Pangako Sa'Yo = Meron Christmas Surprise?

The teaser at the end of Thursday's episode said that 'may pasabog'... what could it be?

Something big is what we all should expect... could Amor be pregnant with Eduardo's baby after their renewed night of passion after years away from each other's warm embrace? How would Lia and Angelo react to this news? How about the return of a character from Book 1? Bea Bianca ba?

Where is my money? It has to be with a return of the 'beloved' Claudia Buenavista! All signs point to that being the biggest bomb but its not a big surprise. Who really ever thought she was dead? We never saw her face as a chard corpse in a nearby morgue! It has to be her, will she be with Simon? How does she explain her extended disappearance while they all suffered in her absence? The lame and overplayed teleserye, 'memory loss' excuse?


So excited! Only a few hours away! I miss Angelica Panganiban and her crazy, evil ways. Can't wait for another round of Amor vs Claudia! Can you?
